Here is a bit about Melissa:
She began training in 2003 with Cindy Omatsu, who is the first American female BJJ black belt. Melissa was awarded her black belt from her husband Chris Haueter, who is a 5th degree black belt and BJJ "Dirty Dozen" member.
Melissa's major competitive accomplishments are a silver medal at the 2015 black belt Master's World Championships, a bronze medal at the 2011 Pans mixed brown & black belt division, and gold in her weight class and bronze in the open division at the 2008 No Gi World Championships.
In addition to being an experienced and passionate BJJ athlete and coach, Melissa is a mother of two. On top of that, she has her own tutoring business and is a certified group fitness instructor.
